A unique opportunity

This conference offers a unique opportunity to meet various Dutch and Norwegian stakeholders of the fisheries and aquaculture industry. Trough several activities a platform is provided where fishermen, representatives from the industry, policy makers and scientists can discuss about sustainability in fisheries and aquaculture. The overall goal is to exchange ideas, learn from each other’s approaches, identify challenges and explore possible cooperation.

An extraordinary program

The programme will be divided into three parts:

  • a project fair with inspiring Norwegian and Dutch innovation projects, including the results of a student exchange program between Norway and The Netherlands,
  • an interactive Dutch-Norwegian debate on sustainable fisheries and aquaculture and
  • an interesting network reception hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The debate will be the highlight of this conference. As an introduction four keynote speakers will shortly present their vision on the main topic. The second part contains an interactive debate based on challenging propositions. It promises to become a lively discussion in which all participants are invited to join. The debate will be moderated by Maarten Mens (Dutch Fish Product Board), possibly in cooperation with a Norwegian colleague.
